Many adults throughout Somerset County enter IOP after anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, chronic stress, emotional burnout, or mood instability begin affecting concentration, sleep, motivation, relationships, or emotional consistency. Some adults feel mentally exhausted and emotionally reactive, while others notice growing difficulty managing pressure, routines, or unhealthy coping patterns while continuing to meet responsibilities at work or at home.
Our IOP also supports adults managing co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns in one coordinated outpatient setting. Anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, alcohol use, cannabis use, prescription medication misuse, and other substance-related concerns often overlap and begin reinforcing one another when left untreated. Treating only one side of the condition can make long-term progress harder to maintain and increase the likelihood of recurring emotional or behavioral instability.
Co-occurring treatment during IOP is designed to address both mental health symptoms and substance use concerns together so adults can build healthier coping strategies, emotional stability, and more consistent long-term functioning.
